Terms of service

1. What Jinseva is

Jinseva is software that animal and bird rescue organisations use to register, dispatch and track rescue cases. Jinseva does not itself rescue animals, employ rescuers, or operate any of the helpline numbers listed on this site.

2. The helpline directory and rescue guides

The helpline directory and the rescue guides are published free as a public service. Using them creates no contract and requires no account.

  • The listed numbers belong to independent rescue groups and volunteers. Their availability, hours, coverage and conduct are theirs, not ours, and we do not guarantee that any number will be reachable or that anyone will attend.
  • The guides describe containment and transport first aid only. They are not veterinary advice and do not replace examination by a veterinarian.
  • Handling wild animals carries risk to you and to the animal. You do so at your own discretion, and you are responsible for complying with the wildlife protection laws that apply where you are.

3. Accounts

An organisation registers, and access begins once the registration is approved and activated. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you register, for keeping login credentials confidential, and for everything done under your organisation’s accounts.

Each person who signs in must have their own account. Do not share credentials between volunteers.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform to send unsolicited or marketing messages. Caller messaging exists to acknowledge and update a report, and the platform deliberately limits a caller to two messages.
  • Enter personal data about anyone without a legitimate rescue purpose for holding it.
  • Attempt to access another organisation’s cases, volunteers, messages or invoices, or to probe, scan or interfere with the service.
  • Scrape, republish or resell the helpline directory as your own, or use the listed numbers for anything other than an animal genuinely in distress.
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

5. Your data

Cases, volunteers and messages your organisation creates remain yours. You may export case data to CSV at any time. We process it to operate the service, as described in the privacy policy.

6. Subscription and payment

Access to the dashboard is by subscription. Current prices are on the pricing page and are exclusive of GST, which is charged in addition and shown on the tax invoice. Payment is taken online through Razorpay, and a subscription is granted once the payment is confirmed.

When a subscription lapses, the dashboard, login and admin pages for that organisation stop being reachable until it is renewed. The public case tracker stays open so a member of the public who reported an animal can still find out what happened to it. Lapsing does not by itself delete your data.

See the refund policy for cancellations.

7. Third-party services

Message delivery depends on WhatsApp and on the messaging gateway, and payments depend on Razorpay. Those services are outside our control, and interruptions or delivery failures in them are not within our responsibility.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available and to give notice of planned maintenance where practical, but the service is provided as is, without a guaranteed uptime commitment. Do not rely on it as the only route by which an emergency can reach your team.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of the service is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the outcome of any rescue, or for the acts or omissions of any rescue group or volunteer — including those listed in the helpline directory.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms, particularly for misuse of caller data or of the messaging features. You may stop using the service at any time; export your data first.

11. Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be raised from inside your dashboard. See the contact page for the right route.
